I had the extreme privilege of seeing Benga at The Twisted Pepper in Dublin Friday Night. Brilliant, he spun for two hours! The crowd was mostly boys and the Irish lads really don't know how to dance to drum and bass, but who does I guess. I do, that's who. It would have been better to have my boys Jbones, M. Jiles, L.Rose, Porkins, and Theethee there with me but I got on alright all the same.
Worth noting also, the sound system in that place was PERFECT. They had four subwoofers that looked like g-drives, about as thick as my thighs and as high as my my shoulders. You could feel your nostrils bouncing and your lips shaking on your fucking face. There were a few other DJs who really just hit the spot also.
Lots of dancing, lots of drinking, and lots of Irish boys putting their arms around me. I think New Yorkers need to take a lesson in how much contact with the rest of the crowd can really make a good time. All the same, Benga is the man, we love the Benga. (I also love Katy B who he's been working with. I wish American pop music sounded like this.)
He played this too....#
