GO download the mixtape from Gordon Voidwell. I don't know how good it is because I haven't listened yet, but it has to be if I'm recommending it before I even hear it! They were one of the few bands I saw during CMJ and they were the fucking best. Their whole aesthetic was amazing, one of them was from Port Chester (the one with the crazy yellow synth, known as a zen drum), and their music was so good. Two of the groups (Das Racist and Bin Laden Blowin' Up) were suprisingly good that night too so I was expecting the same hipster hip hop stuffins that they delivered, but NO, Gordon Voidwell were funky and electro and there was a ton of musicianship involved. All parts of the band were perfect, especially the fine ladies they brought with them to dance on stage. They hardly danced, they were more about getting people in the mood for love or something.
I also put some pictures up because East Village Radio only used one on their site for the show's recap and they picked the worst one!
