U.K. Bassline/Garage

Before Dubstep and Bassline there was Speed Garage or 2-step Garage(see wikipedia article) which was the primary U.K. club sound after the Jungle/Drum n' Bass phenomenon. A dark underground version of this is what inspired Dubstep (see skream mix at bottom). But just like it's hard to put any artist into a category all of these producers move around through the genres (some say even bandwagoning). Bassline is interesting in its difference from dubstep where it embraces pop and considers itself a means to a dancy end, which could be, in some instances, considered as(if not more) creative and refreshing as dark and complicated dubstep.
